Travel Insurance FAQs

How much does travel insurance cost?

The cost of Travel Insurance is dependent on a number of factors including your age and
medical history. It will also depend on where you’re going and for how long, and whether you want single trip cover or an annual policy.

Can you pay monthly?

No, payment is taken up front.

On annual policies, do I need to tell you each time I travel?

No, once cover is in place you do not need to inform us pr the insurer when you are travelling. However, you should always check the country you are visiting is covered under your policy, e.g. if you have a European policy but are travelling to the USA, you’d need to upgrade to a worldwide policy that includes travel to the USA.

Is Annual travel insurance cheaper than Single Trip?

Not always, no. It depends on your circumstances, and you should also consider how many
trips you plan to take. We can guide you through this process and we’d always recommend getting a single trip quote if you have a holiday booked – we’ll show you the annual price alongside it.

Do you offer cruise cover?

Yes, all insurers on our panel cover cruises, and some provide cruise specific benefits, too. You will need to answer yes to the cruise question when getting your quote.

On annual couple / family policies can I travel solo?

Yes, if you buy an Annual Multi Trip policy all adults on the policy can travel independently. Terms vary for Children.

Will my annual policy automatically renew?

No, we will write to you 21 days before your policy is due to expire, and you’ll need to call us
to run through a new quotation.

I live outside the UK, can I still get insurance?

No, you must be a resident of the UK, Channel Islands or Isle of Man and trips must start and
end in the UK.

If my travel agent cancels the holiday, am I covered for cancellation?

No, it would be the responsibility of your Travel Agent or tour operator to reimburse you or
offer an alternative holiday. Your Travel Insurance is there to protect you if you need to cancel the holiday, for example due to a change in medical circumstance means you can’t travel. Cancellation terms and limits vary by insurer and you should always check the wording.
